Critic Score: Vietti's 2016 Barbera d'Alba Vigna Vecchia Scarrone is fabulous. Rich and enveloping, with tremendous structure, the 2016 is superbly beautiful. Plush fruit and soft contours give the wine much of its immediacy and appeal. Two thousand sixteen is also a vintage in which the purity and depth of the fruit are quite evident, while the French oak is not. Tasted May 2019. 93 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com
