Critic Score: (40% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot, 25% cabernet franc and 5% petit verdot; 27.3 g/l dry extract; 12.6% alcohol): Amber-tinged red. Herbal green bell pepper, coffee and quinine notes overwhelm delicate dark fruit aromas. Sweeter and fruitier in the mouth than the nose suggests, with coffee and milk chocolate notes adding interest to the blackberry and plum flavors. The moderately persistent finish is a bit chunky and lackluster, displaying a repeating green, herbal note and slightly tough tannins. I don't get an impression of full phenolic ripeness here. This was a surprisingly poor showing for this vintage: is it possible that I caught it at an awkward stage? Tasted January 2012. 86? points. Ian D'Agata,
