(Dominique Laurent told me that this is the same cuvée that he made in 2014): Good dark color. Empyreumatic aromas of dark cherry, smoked meat and truffle. Powerful and energetic but a touch dry, hinting at the vegetal side of this relatively cold terroir. Quite tannic and salty. Laurent noted that he didn't keep a lot of wine in either 2012 or 2002 because he wasn't wild about either vintage. Tasted February 2016, Vinous 90 Points Stephen Tanzer
